120G FOR SHAUN G!

UPDATE:

Last night, I witnessed the most amazing event in all my 10 years of being a part of Vancouver nightlife ( Was that a run-on sentence?).  It just goes to show you how strong of a community we have.  I’m so proud of Pedro and the staff, Commodore Ballroom, all of the performers, and all in attendance.  I’m super proud to have Shaun as a friend, to have shared good memories with him and I’m super-stoked we raised 120Gs.  Take that Cancer and FUCK YOU.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Shaun G was one of Vancouver’s most genuine and positive people. To pay tribute to him, and to raise funds and awareness for cancer, we’re throwing a party in his honour.

The proceeds from this party are going directly to the newly created Shaun G Foundation. The goal for the night is to break $100,000. The Shaun G Foundation will distribute funds to all types of cancer research in Canada, including much needed research for Angiosarcoma, the rare type of cancer Shaun had.

The Shaun G Foundation – A Vancouver movement to fight cancer that reflects the way Shaun lived his remarkable life. 100%

On October 28th, 2010 at the age of 28, Shaun Gauthier lost a brief but courageous battle with Angiosarcoma, an extremely rare but invasive form of cancer. He was so brave and positive to the end. Shaun G was a brilliant, intelligent and vibrant young man who lived life to the absolute fullest. His admirable character and charisma shone through to everything he touched. His family and friends built this foundation in honor of the strong spirit of this exceptional young man. Through the legacy of this Foundation, we have a vision to promote awareness for the fight against all cancers, cancer research and to provide a powerful source of support for those in need.

Shaun’s smile and enthusiasm for life will forever be missed but his courage and positivity will live on through the Shaun G Foundation.
